 Which SEMs does it fit?

The SemAfore digitizer works on JEOL scanning electron microscopes models JSM 35C, 35CF, T20, T100, T200, T220, T300, T330, 5200, 5300, 5310, 5310LV, 5400, 5410, 5410LV, 5800, 5800LV, 25S, 820, 840, 880, 6100, 6300, 6310, 6400, 6600 and the field emission SEMs 840F, 880F, 890, 6000F, 6301F, 6320F, 6400F, 6401F and 6600F. It also works with EPMAs like JXA 8600, 8800 and 8900 and with most scanning attachments to JEOL TEMs.

 PC requirements

For Windows 98/ME/2000/XP we deliver the SemAfore digitizer as a small external box (104 x 55 x 24 mm) with USB connector to the PC and a SEM-model specific cable to the SEM.

Windows 95 and NT do not support USB connections and the SemAfore for these are on an ISA-card for internal mounting in the PC (requires one free ISA-slot). Not recommended, as it will be almost impossible to later move to a new PC.

PC minimum performance requirements:

• 450 MHz Pentium II or better
• Hard disk drive to store a reasonable number of 1 - 4 Mb images.
• SVGA display adapter with at least 800 x 600 pixel resolution/256 colours.
• CD-ROM
• VGA compatible display and mouse/tracker ball with 2-3 buttons

 Demonstration program

The trial version download shows the user interface of the hardware SemAfore digitizer and the GOP image enhancement system and contains most of the image handling functionality of the retail version, including the full user's manual in Help.

Warranty.

The SemAfore digitizer board and the interface cable assembly is covered by a 24 months warranty starting at time of shipment from JEOL(Skandinaviska)AB. During this time JEOL(Skandinaviska)AB will free of charge repair or replace any returned defective SemAfore hardware component unless they are damaged by obvious misuse. The warranty does not include shipping cost.

The SemAfore software is warranted to perform substantially in accordance with the User's Manual. Any software errors within the scope of this warranty will soonest be rectified and a corrected version issued free of charge.

It is important to note that the SemAfore is a passive device which in no way controls the microscope. Its only connection to the SEM is via an external connector to the recording CRT. There is no technical reason that your installation of SemAfore would in any way conflict with or imbibe any warranty of your SEM or conflict with any service contract conditions.
